I did have a long reply for you Abacus on your comment " this must be the most negative forum on the planet"
Rather let me bite my tongue.
Will just say that hot topics always receive more press and comments but don't ignore the amount of positive energy used on daily racing posts and shared knowledge.

This is a very busy forum but at the time of this post we currently have 30 topics running on page 1
How many would u regard as negative ?

Dave, rather be fair, please.
By quoting the 30 posts on page one, you are being misleading. Obviously there won't be negative comments on Anton ' injury and rain in Kimberley etc.
But, take the last 30 threads which offer opinions on Racing, like the Michael Carney thread and the bookies vs TT thread. Then look at the posts...... And count the negatives vs the positives.....
And then ABC does look negative and anti racing.
On those grounds, Abacus is correct.

Back to the topic
The fundamental principle which is just never addressed, is the one which educates potential racing people.
I have hammered this point for years now and it is not taken seriously. Every time a thread comes up discussing Marketing of Racing, there will ALWAYS be replied, at some point, that Racing is complicated. It is difficult to understand, not only the bet types, but also reading form and understanding handicapping, draws, and terminology.
SO WHY ARE THERE NO VIDEOS ON RACING, EXPLAINING EVERYTHING ? From foal to weaning to yearling to juvenile to racing. Starting Stalls training and passing, Farriery, jockeyship , Training,Owbership, Equipment. Handicapping. Betting. EVERYTHING !

This could be a free download, it must be on Youtube, it must be available at races, it's availability must be blasted on social media
We sit on a goldmine here, we just have to get it done.
We have nothing for first time racegoers to take with them or to follow up from home. Nothing !

I was talking to a Phumelela employee the other day who's desperate to get involved in the campaign , but because of politics involving his immediate boss it's not possible.

He is young , enthusiastic and loves racing

So even with this United front there seems to be infighting

"Most negative site on the planet ", very unfair statement imo. ABC tries to promote completely the opposite.
The real negativity in racing is created by dishonest people involved in racing, we all know who they are, getting rid of that element in racing will be a positive step forward

From what I understand, the purpose of this Site is to allow you as an enthusiastic Punter, to speak your mind, be it positive or negative, on horse racing matters of interest to yourself.

I have seen many Posts, where the Author/Institution is "Thanked", "Complimented", or "Congratulated", for things well done, or their positive attitude to certain racing matters.

This site is not there for you to try to change other peoples, thoughts, impressions or comments, or to convince them that they are wrong, and you are right.

Sometimes Posters get hot under the collar, and words are a little sharper, but I have never seen things get out of hand.

So, Abacus, I don't think you will be banned.

Continue and read up on this Site, the Information supplied "from the heart", regarding horse racing matters !

Enjoy !
