The lack of out of town runners for this feature race meeting is very surprising. Looking at the fields you would think that any half decent horses from Gauteng would be hard to beat in any of the features.

There is a runner I have found very interesting tomorrow. Rousseau in the 7th Race. Fransie Herhold has prefered him to Mr Vindaloo and I would imagine Wolf In Winter as he has the first choice of rides for Von Willingh Smit (both shorter in the betting than him).

Rousseau improved tremendously with blinkers last time out and on LBH would have finished 1,53L behind Anger and be 8kg's better off. His first run in Kimberly in a MR race shows him being much worse off with stable mate Wolf In Winter but that was after a break so looks to have improved signaficantly since then, looking at LBH between the two of them on their last run. Even though under sufference as a facile maiden winner I would imagine the handicapper could have been unsure what to rate him. At 20/1 based on the last run I recon it is worth a small EW bet and maybe one to include in the exotics at a decent price.

Also spotted that Shrek and nibbled at Rousseau (Soldiersailor also). Think SVW may have a good day and I wouldn't be surprised if he has a winner or two or...

I'm thinking Mr Smith had a forward raid in the Emerald with In A Rush so his presence here should be respected - Sedge has run close on the Poly against proper A Div sprinters - I think this horse will enjoy this track and the trainer finds Sand King Yeni to ride - E/w for me and I'll cover with Anger (I think he will be pressed to the line this time) in the Bi-pot
