Will the Jocks stand down tomorrow?
11 years 5 days ago
I have seen quite a few jocks complain in public about safety issues at Greyville
They usually keep their traps shut but have been quite high profile in this case, anyone heard anything?
The main problem seems to be the tar road, but i have also hear rumbles about a glare from the big screen and the pick up point

Paint the tar "grass green".... no problem.

... the goat track is not owned by GC and thank goodness for that...else I might have to lease it out to plant cabbages

More than a little confused. Has that tar road only been built this week? If not, then surely everyone has known for some time that the road is there. Assuming that is correct, making it a big issue and standing down on the inaugural race day would seem to me to be sheer lunacy. And I thought it was all tested the other day so surely any grounds for not racing would have been stated then and appropriate decisions made. Or is all that just too logical and tomorrow could still turn into another circus show?

Safety is a major issue for both horse and rider, a tar road wouldn't be too kind on either should a horse go through the rail..........I doubt the jocks will be racing today, there could be some fun at Greyville later.....I think I'll take a drive past for the entertainment !!!!!!

But if this is the case(looming protest) surely a Jockey's rep and GC should have discussed this and found a solution before a meeting was scheduled there? Or would that be too logical? Too many ego's in Racing as Pirates would say - Horse and rider first before profit should be the code of practice
