Clanners maybe I used the wrong heading or choice of words, however the tone in which the questions were asked smacks of disrespect to the trainer and total disrespect to the owner. The other day at the races (Kenilworth) an owner enjoyed his first win in 33 years. What joy and elation for this owner. We dont all have the same luck out there (first and last win ever??) and its not easy to have a winner. The interview should be the owners moment and made special for his/her success. Plus other additional info attained from trainer and jock for the punters. Thats it ! I have never commented on any thread in the past about presenters, except to compliment, because I believe it is a thankless job. It is however his whole demeanour and tone that was shocking to me. My opinion and I didnt expect this reaction, deffinately not looking for any sensation !?

I totally agree unfortunately he is not the first or the last to do it, its just the way racing has become no Respect for Owner or Trainer who love this game Very Sad !!!!!!

I'm in total agreement with you neigh.

Having now watched the interview it was, at best, in bad taste - bordering on disrespectful. The issue of betting should not be dealt with during the winning interviews. Not by the interviewer anyway. When the interview takes place we would have just witnessed an athletic event and the interviewers emphasis should be on the athletic prowess and achievement of the winning horse and rider.

The probability of a horse actually winning the race is not that relevant. Sometimes horses with little or no form win. Sometimes horses enjoy the conditions and improve. Sometimes lady luck intervenes etc etc etc. This reality is true to life and plays out, in various forms, in all sorts of sporting endevour. It is possible for the underdog to win. It happens.

The interviewer should congratulate the connections and praise the rider (period) and where possible extract information for the balance of the card.

This young fellow should keep his own inept wagering activities to himself and not present those as some sort of rite of passage to the horses that he had selected for his pick six, excluding the possibility that a horse that he didn't select will have the temerity to win the race. Frankly most of us don't give a shit what his pix six numbers were after the race has run.

Very poor effort! Hopefully this thread will help him to improve in future. He clearly has potential.

I also think that Julie Alexander has upped her game big over the last couple months I have to say..she has tipped a few good winners at decent odds especially now that she talks to the trainers and jocks.

Seriously, Martin couldn't train ivy to climb a wall, let alone give a presenters course. The days of interviewing Syd Laird at the July (also a disaster if you saw Aiden's doccie) are over. TT's going to Court over big money. Give a product that justifies it. These guys MUST be tested off air before they are let loose on the ubsuspecting connections, punters and public.8-)

LOL. Ask and you shall receive. Thanks LG, proper interview, put the race nicely in perspective.

If presenters do not back I think their opinion's will be less biased
won't be talking from their pockets and focus to tip what they believe and not what they have backed
then again I do sometimes wonder if they do punt their own tips because they will be out of pocket after the first meeting of the month :)

A storm in a tea cup. nothing critically wrong with the interview. IMVHO the interviewer was tense and that came across in the intervierw. I think he will be more smooth with experience and anyway you will get this when the presenters are EXPECTED to be Tipsters as well.
