Craig,

Your point about faceless people who hide behind pseudonyms is fair.I too would probably not respond to an attack on me from someone I didn't know.

Having said that, the operators have access to a large amount of information, especially with regards to telebet account holders. We all have to do FICA in order to have these accounts.

I'm 44 now,I think I opened my telebet account the moment I was legally allowed to,I had after all been betting on horse racing since I was 13.

I owned horses in my 20's already.

When I tried to use my telebet account late last year I was told it had been deactivated because it had not been used for so long. That's fine I said, just give me a new account.'But you are a premium account holder' she says, you must reactivate your old account. So I did. Then I get an email to inform me that all Western Cape account holders have to move to Phumelela.I already have a Phumelela account though,so I phoned GC and opened a new account with them.I prefer their platform to Phumelela's,but at the end of the day both are cumbersome in comparison to what the bookmakers offer.

My point is,I have been a customer of this industry for 26 years. They may not have to answer to me on here, but why in 26 years has nobody ever called me to ask me what my suggestions are, what I'm unhappy with, what I think could be done to improve things.PGE know exactly who I am!

There's a lot of I's in my last sentence, but this actually has nothing to do with me.It has everything to do with everyone else who is just like me.

Racing keeps talking about finding new customers, but it continues to treat it's current customers very poorly.

They can hide behind the excuse that they won't answer to people who hide behind pseudonyms on here, but what's the excuse for ignoring those that they do have the names of?

Our ages are the same with almost the exact Racing pedigree(also owned since my late 20's and started punting early with my telebet Acc being one of my major achievements when turned 18 along with my driver's license!!) and I have not used my Telebet Account for maybe 4 years and have never got a call from Phumelela asking why I no longer use it or to offer me a reason why I should start reusing it so the "I" is way more than one or two people as Titch has pointed out before. There are masses of dormant accounts that could see an increase in turnover if only 20% of them were reactivated.

remember one thing boys, we take our salaries to the track and they take their salaries from the track,,, im not saying there are not good racing men in the structure but there are far more who dont understand the true punter who exchanges his hard cash often at the expense of his family for torn up tickets,, guys who take salaries home from racing regardless of what wins or loses will never understand what we need

Craig, in truth, the answer is a big "NO" but its a start lol (tu) But why would they want to do an email account where they might get 100 separate people emailing the same thing when they can just put that 100 into 1 by using the forum and everyone can have a healthy debate?

And I am not going there but I repeat that this alias thing is just one huge red herring imho. It seems to me it is all about not wanting to answer difficult questions and the alias thing is the pathetic excuse used for avoiding them. I can think of no business, anywhere, where it is an absolute requirement that someone's real identity has to be known to answer a question... and when I say it like that, it just makes it all the more apparent to me that it is just one big rotten pink salmon!!

if your salary is secure no matter what why should you care , we as race players continually feed the beast so the beast is big enough to limp on no matter how wounded, the ticks and fleas nestle in its hide sucking its blood and are snug

And there be the (totally wrong, backward thinking, arrogant, selfish, isolated, dictatorial etc etc) crux of the matter imho Mr A (tu) It is such a shame though that they don't realise that the ticks and fleas actually want to tend and heal those wounds to make the beast stronger rather than watching it limping along like a wounded animal.

Anyway, I'm off to win my retirement funds so I can leave all this stress behind me lol... ;)

I was at Emperors Casino during December, i could not believe how many promotions they run during a day/night.

Then if you a winners cirlce card holder you get certain incentives, just depending on what card you hold.
1. Free food and drinks vouchers
2. Discounted meals
3. Dinner/Overnight stay on your birthday
4. Earn points to gamble with.
5. Vouchers for promotionnal offers (shows, etc)

This is just some of the examples, plenty more....

Even the R20 patron who plays the 1cent machines are treated like kings.

every day the operator cry that they only have the minority percent of the gambling rand when be fore they have it all. these is all ways use as the excuse off course it is the valid one. BUT what do they do to grow there market share? on the marketing side even the 1st year know the four P's as the absolute basics of attracting new business. I see no effort to do any thing to keep the loyal customer and just as important never more important to get new customer. the clevers say it cost 6 time more to get new customer than keep existing one. if i am the punting virgin and i go visit a casino and visit a race course or even worse the off course tote, where you think i go back to?

Have you guys seen the recent ads in the Computaform where they are looking for people to work on a commission basis to get people to open tote accounts.....laughable.....at one time I would have jumped at the opportunity.....but the way you and I are treated as past and existing customers..... I would rather introduce them to the open bet and a good bookie that will treat them a lot better.....I don't think that the open bet is at all fair..... as the bookies do not plough that contribution back into racing....but the operator is even more off side in not being able to offer what you and any new guys require
