Hi Bob,
Marshalls World of Sport are refunding all
bets placed on the second horse (Abyssinia) from Kenilworth Race 1 yesterday.
The horse has been scratched in our system, so all account holders will already
have been credited. Any cash ticket can be presented at any MWOS shop for
a refund. As the horse is treated as a scratching, all MULTIPLE bets will be paid
at the adjusted odds on the remaining legs.
Anyone who has already discarded their tickets should speak to their branch
manager and submit a “lost ticket” claim – there will still be the mandatory 60
day waiting period for the lost ticket claim.

Refunds are easy for the bookies who just the other day, only paid 25% of their limit instead of 25% of the dividend, which was still lower than their advertised limit..... :X

louis math is no your strong point i see you no understand what the rule is. let the stupid try help the clever. 500000 is maximum the bookie pay. these is pay if the punter catch the ticket full and tote dividend is 500000 or higher. if the percentage is catch then the percentage is pay of the dividend to the max base of 500000. so if the p6 pay 1 million the base become 500000 for the bookie and he pay the percentage caught.
example punter catch 10% of p6 that pay 800000 and ticket is by tote he get pay 80000
punter catch 10% at bookie he get pay 50000
capice?

Will the tote operator come to the party, maybe some of that capital from unclaimed tickets can go into some sort of quartet pool...??

Absolutely WRONG Flash ! I have a copy of their rules here and this is NOT stated. Trust me on this. They will stand to a maximum payout of R500k. At no point does their rule equivilate to a percentage of their limit. All that they will gain by not paying, is some time until they have to pay. I also might even have a copy of the actual ticket here....
But, even if you were correct, the bottom line remains that for exactly the same outlay, the punter will be badly off playing at the bookies, who stand the open bet. This is a vital point, given the rising Pick 6 pools.
To be honest though, Harry, the bookies rule on limits could be read both ways, as you say, but the fact remains that when it is settling time, the bookies look for loopholes.
But, the Tote doesnt, it pays the full dividend. I would be mad to play the open bet, on those grounds.
