Oscar don't you get the impression that those that do improve were bound to under the right circumstances? i'm no trainer of course but it would be interesting if one can do study on the success of this operation,....i can think of a few on top of my head that were supposed to improve but didn't

Not really my mate..if you check the Computaform and see how many (I would say over 90% ) horses improve and even win after gelding.

Very difficult to compare K999 because a lot of colts are gelded before they ever start their racing career's.

Not as successful as wind operations which by the way are not reported to public.

We have all this data on racing but very few meaningful reports out there

@easy - to a lay man like me what is a wind op, it sounds like something that would fix breathing problems, do you have a much clearer explanation.

What a coincidence, I wanted to ask exactly the same question today. I was already searching the forum to see if it was asked before. Our horse got gelded today and was just wondering?!

According to my stats there is some significance:

There is a winning strike rate of 17% vs the gelded frequency per gelded race of 10%.

The winning strike rate covers it 1.6 times (hope you get what I mean).
