The Australian Racing Board will make it mandatory for all owners to register race horse retirements and the location of their next home.

and that will definitely curb ownership. I do not care how anyone spins it . How many current thoroughbreds in training? How many yearlings, readytoruns etc were offered up in the last 12 months.... and then extrapolate that to how many 'ultimate' destinations there are for retired/talentless horses ? That is poor maths imo {waves to Frodo} ....

But the motivation and intentions are excellent !!

100% - the problem with issues like these are always to try and 'marry' the ideal and the practical - never easy to achieve, but good intentions s good starting point in most cases - imo ;)

Whats Wrong every month R500 from a horses keep goes to its retirement? 5 years training R30k towards its retirement...

owner 60%
trainer 20%
operators 20%
