The situation you described above will never play out in the real world. How will you know the relative preps of the two horses. How will you know that one side's owners are optimists whereas the other side's owners are pessimists. How do you know, in the real world, that the confidence displayed by the one side is not justified, as well as that the lack of confidence showed by the other side is also not justified. How are you going to tell the relative financial positions of said owners.
Thread should read, would you back a 12/10 shortener or a 7/2 drifter.

Why dont you just dutch them so that you can win exactly the same profit irrespective who wins?

15000 minus 10000 for losing bet on A minus 6% tax?

Ben Hur wants to punt R10,000 each on both horses = R20,000. Right?
Ben Hur should bet R12,857 on the 15/10 shot and R7,143 on the 7/2 shot. Ben Hur will win R12,143 irrespective of who wins net of taxes.
Over and out, joining Agra to concentrate on the racing. My punting fast ends tomorrow, yay...

My bad. Did not sleep last night or Alzheimers Light. Take your pick. should be 15000 - 900 = 14100 - 10000 = 4100. Maybe thats why I dont consider myself a Higher Grade Punter
