SIDDHARTH - TURFF Sat 17th Aug

Siddharth wins - no race record, - money pours on, in the jackpot. Punters know nothing, so horse with no form wins. Jackpot out. Nice one for racing's integrity and reputation.
No wonder the punter pool is shrinking??

Hi Don: not taking a piss at u, but if u talking about the P6, then the p6 rule applies and in that race the only two main form horses were lesley strong and ze tar, 1st timer rules applies and lesley strong wouldve got you through the P6? Unless u bankered Te Zar?

thanks ShezaPunter for pointing that out, to be honest, not too familiar with betting and rules. Can only comment from the point of view of a beginner - which is what it looks like is happening - put plainly, it looks very much like the connections knew and arranged a payout for themselves. To anyone new it is a barrage of numbers, rules and what applies when and when not, and that you should know someone in racing to be able to be included. The environment itself in its current form isn't trustworthy and therefore not inviting. Sort of hammers home the old heresay 'racing is crooked' before you even bother to look deeper and try and understand what is going on and why.
Why can there not be a flat rule that all horses unraced and coming off from long layoffs be time trialled and those published along with the form in the newspaper like they do in other countries?
Tell me what happened to this horse in the race in your opinion and how punters were affected. If it is unraced how can you consider it in a perm and why was there last minute money movement on it.

Currently (but apparently due to change some time in September - see the New Tote Rules thread) the first 'raced' horse home qualify for P6 purposes as well (so if first timers run 1st and 2nd and a raced horse runs 3rd, the raced horse would also qualify)

That is spot on Frodo and Don not To try offend You but like All things in Life You should only get involved when You know the rules. The 1st timer rule is there To protect the punter and hence You would not have gone out that leg of the P6 even though It won by picking the 1st races runner past the post which was not a daunting taak,
Just for the record on another threat Siddharth was One of the standout bets based on ratings I Posted on the Day early prior To the exotics started, so I cannot See How You could blame the trainer connexions of Siiharth for what I do believe is a shortcoming not having trials (although trials in itself could Be used To mislead the punter which sometimes happens across the World in any case)

Don has a valid point i.e: first timers can only be backed on guesstimation by the public, for someone to go confidently it means they knew something that was not in the public domain. (be it Siddharth, Kimberlyal, etc examples endless)....

Don if the connections made money on a first timer good luck to them they deserve to get some money back it cost them how much to buy the horse and to feed it for 2 years at R8000 a month so they have a right to make money and time trails are a waste of time because why should they let everyone see how good the horse is so they get 8/10 and make no money.
