Looking for starting stalls - to buy

The Namibian Horseracing Association is looking for a set of stalls to buy. Racing in Namibia is fast growing and we are looking for a new set of starting stalls. The late Peter Miller (great man that he was) and Greame Hawkins arranged for a set of stalls that we transported from Kimberley a few years ago but we are currently racing in 4 different towns and anyone that knows this country will tell you it is almost impossible to move the stalls everytime because of the vast distances. If the trainers, Graig,James, Louis or Dorrie or any of the clanners can put me in contact with Phumelela or Gold Circle or any centre where there is a set of starting stalls not in use it will be greatly appreciated. I know Gold Circle put in a new set not so long ago.
Sorry Hibs and Scotia for using the forum but don't know where to go.

Hello Mr Royal,

Very interesting did not know you had racing in Nam!

Please tell us a bit more about your racing. Which websites to look at, tracks, towns etc?

Also, are you allowed to import RSA horses?

Regards and thanks!

Mr H we race on sand. Mainly bush racing but more in a structured manner with vets, stipes, starters ect. Race in Windhoek,Rehoboth, Keetmanshoop and also Gobabis. We import horses from S A but also breed ourselves. One of SA better stallions resident here in Namibia. Many Namibians are colour holders in SA and can think back of the Eerenstein brothers, owners of Divine Act. Racing also growing in neighbouring Botswana with cellphone giant Mascom as the main sponsor. We try to race twice per month in different towns. Must say we have great support from Namibian Government which is a great help. Horse that won in Kimberley today, Castle Rock, won our July race two months ago so show the strenght, or lack thereof.

Don't know Hibs,as Jaap the trainer was not here to thank. Was brought up with a few other horses that stayed behind. Am sure is not a problem as I know of other horses that take part in bush meetings in SA and then go back and race in Kimberley or even Vaal sand.

We have spoken to Luciano Passerini in PE about the Arlington gates. Phumelela have not made a decision about what will happen to the gates once Arlington closes in December but he said we can speak to him in the new year.

I get your point Hibs, but all these years Kimberley horses take part in bush meetings, sponsored by Phumelela, and then go back and race in the minor centres. I agree, it could be used to give some horses a sprint up, before going back to race. I can tell you that some of these meetings are more fun than the proffesional meetings. You and some clanners must consider to attend some of these meetings next year.
