Not sure that winning a race in namibia in July would have swung many punters to be fair :S

And what about getting collateral forms when 2 RSA horses run against each other and these are not recorded in the racecard? This is a joke

A clansman quoted an NHRA rule that trainers may not race against each other outside of official races eg two trainers may not dice each other at a training gallop. Bush racing breaks that rule ... surely ...

Also, this kind of mentality is precisely why we are considered 3rd world.

If authoritys can't do anything about it, what can we do, I know friends in the 80's took there horses that ran in the cape hunt ,and take the horses to mossel bay to race, and that form was not in the race card when they ran in cape town again,so that what I mean its going on for years.

Last I heard, the owner was the owner, i.e. the horse belonged to him, he paid the bills every month, and he could do what he chose with the beast, within the limits of animal cruelty. Legally the punter had no rights over the animal whatsoever. So why all this righteous indignation?
As for getting information for punting purposes, that's up to the punter and those organisations that represent him. If you think bush racing will affect a horse's ability/readiness to win, get onto it.
And if it's a matter of getting info from organised racing in Namibia - i.e. a different country - it's not South West Africa any more - then ask nicely and say please. Don't demand it, then you'll get zilch. They aren't obliged to give you anything.
Oh, and this thread is another feather in the cap of ABC the website. This is definitely the place to go to hear all kinds of information that never finds it's way into the official racing press. Viva ABC, viva!

so an owner can take his horse away from Randjesfontein and enter it in a bush race in Walkerville on Sunday and then it can return to the stables and run at the Vaal on Tuesday - This is wrong and against NHRA rules if the horse runs against other horses that are registered racehorses in training under the NHRA - Who is in control of these horses when they go bush racing? Is the trainer or his assistant there?
