i really cant see how run for it at 26 on the list can qualify for the race unless plenty below him are taken out the race....he was the first horse i went for eway at first nom stage so the decision to not run him in the trial on sat is very confusing...

i think run for it is running in a pinnacle/conditions race later this month....and if he has got to win that race(talk about putting all your eggs in one basket ..this is it)....but on the upside no penalty weight would be incurred...he would have no second chance

I recon Run For It isn't in the Top 20 as he hasn't won for a while. I would imagine he would have to win a race regardless of the strength to get in. If he wins the Pinnacle Plate I would imagine he must have a fair chance of getting in. As a 2 time winner with a 106 rating if he can't win a Pinnacle Plate what chance would he have in the July. I hope the gamble pays off for the Snaith's.

Last year Whiteline Fever won a graduation plate two weeks before the July and made the cut. Before that it ran 4th to Jackson in the Daily News and only other good run of note was his 2nd in the Dingaans to Silver Flyer. Run For It on that as a far better chance on that analogy. Interestingly Jet Explorer is nominated to run in the very same race as Run for It.

Planning hibs..
My opinion is Snaiths have this spot on.. Ran a cracker 1st up, now wins a pinnicle well 2nd run.. Will hopefully get chosen4 July and 3rd run after Gelding...eish,

The question is how far back you go on ones race results. Run For It has put up some good performances in the past with the best. That said if you have a 3yo running shd in a Grade 1 its obvious the younger horse got more scope for improvement or an older horse that has raced sparingly. Last year Seal a Grade 1 Derby winner never make the field but Whiteline Fever did. It bamboozles me how some runners get in.
