BLAST DOWN MEMMORY LANE
12 years 2 months ago
I was thinking about years gone by in racing and how people used to dress up and look smart at the track.
There were characters that are not around today .
Arthur Khoury always well dressed never missed a meeting.
In Durban there was Ettiene kid colt.
The Bag Boys had a reputation.
Who remembers good old Jack Khan
Stel and Bradley Jacobson loved the action with Som Singh in the middle.
The Friday night before the July Hcap was something special in Durban
Field st Tattersalls was abuzz electic you could feel the electricity in the air.
The Auction and free food was plenty.
Many were asking Morris Vee what old Man Millard was tipping.
Least not forgot Walter Wiegand he set the tattersalls on fire.
Had a Braai in his cubicle.
Bill Fergason was fealess
A character like no other in racing was Raymond Harris thought he could match strides with Les Khory JNR.
Henry Mansel made action.
Those twins from Durban the Le Grange brothers
Ronnie Samuels came inspected tried to control the game found it to difficult and left.
There were some cunning stories about Ronnie and some Jocks .
The days of Bash the com agent.
Old man Cyril Sepel/
Bruce Chalmers always happy to tip a winner from Ferraris.
His spirit is still flying around Turfontein .
And Andrew Papageorgio sadly passed away this year after buying a lot of horse for S Tarry the giving the to Drier.
Who remembers Spoon.
And Abe the Turk and international Poker Club in Hillbrow(The best dealerson the planet)
He was Jean Hemings owner punter and The Haramse Brothers
Rain Forrest Winning the November Hcap with the GUV aboard.
Good OLD Michael Cave winning the Derby on Kwiktan by 24 Lengths. Ronnis Sholdjammer what he won o Kwiktan.
Hilds Podlas came conquered and left.
That electricity of years ago has gone out of racing
Maybe due to technology.
Post your exiting memmories.

The big hitters these days are at home, in their pajamas, with three laptops.(
