Big Price tag on PJ's head, will they recoup that money?

Why was Queally not replaced by Hughes? The Jock had built up an affinity with the horse and Henry Cecil stuck by the Jock - Rachel Alexandra and Calvin Borel?

Pj has steadily dropped in the ratings and he might just drop a kilo or two after yesterday . He might well be competitive in the summer cup , which could be his mission . If Striker keeps the ride it will be a huge pointer !

I said before the race that the field was full of horses that never peformed last season to the top of their ability about the only unexposed horse in the race wins, how i never backed it i never know..

Looks like racing in the region needs some new stars fast imo...

I agree SOLO! Mr H you make a valid point yes!But trainers differ. And im all for keeping the jock on who done well on him yes but its wiser to get a better more experienced jock.In the end the desicion belongs to the trainer and owners!I also think we, the public are also so quick to critisize but in actual fact we dont know the actual facts. So lets just respect the choices of those whose choice it is to make...be it right or wrong!

Rubyclipper, take a chill pill. I only mentioned PJ, not the rest of your stable. I never said your stable was " off form on saturday "
when I said the stable was " off form " that was refering to ages ago when the stable jock got dumped ( probably blamed )

everyone knows your stable is a punting stable, & they just hate it if the jock has POSSIBLY opened his mouth " & put his punters in " If the horse opens short the jock invaraibly gets the blame whether he put his punetrs in or not.

There is no doubting it, the pressure is on the JOCK big time, if it's a punting stable...... some jocks can handle this pressure, others not.

the truth of the matter is that PJ is NOT the horse he used to be... finnish & klaar, he has turned 6 & that was a dismal run on Saturday. some horses get better with age, others don't, simple as that.

heinrich, I have had an appie win a maiden juvenile for me, a juvenile race, GROUP 2 RACE & A GROUP 1 RACE........... we kept the kid on........HE WON THEM ALL.

We were going for the tripple crown with a million rand bonus up for grabs., on top of the normal stake money. Every top jock in town asked for ride....we turned them all down.. We drew 15/16 the horse ran wide, a jock next to us fell off, we finished 5th. Thats racing - if we were drawn 4 or 5 we may have won it.

what I am emphasizing is LOYALTY............... THE KID DID NOTHING WRONG, WE STUCK WITH HIM THE WHOLE WAY........ not many trainers can say they were loyal to a particular jock ( Felix & Mr. T. Millard , you were the exception of course, a lot of other trainers could learn from you two )

p.s. If Pierre sticks with P.J. for the summer cup well done..... if not it tells you he believes he has found a better ride ( unless he has committed himself to PJ already )

only time will tell.
