I played 2nd row and had a big chance,made my 1st xv debut at 17,but at 18 i started earning and got involved with socialising too much,pity i never missed rugby until it was too late

Pity Hibs.....i sometimes look back on it, but i suppose life throws you these curveballs and i suppose it wasn't meant to be. I did manage to get a degree in Information Systems instead though (tu)

Jio, you are right, but if it was not for Currie Cup rugby, SA rugby would never have been as strong as it is now......it's all we had for about 10 years when we were banned from the international scene. However, I think Kings Park will be close to full come Saturday....just hope the weather plays along.

Jio, you are right, but if it was not for Currie Cup rugby, SA rugby would never have been as strong as it is now......it's all we had for about 10 years when we were banned from the international scene. That was in the days when any rugby player of quality did his National Service in either Cape Town (Navy) or Pretoria, if he was a bright student he went to Stellenbosch on a rugby scholarship. How times have changed since National Service has come to an end. The stadium down the road from "Hotel Command" now boasts a number of Currie Cup trophies.

IMVHO, match-day spectators are dwindling because of ticket prices. For tomorrow, family of 4 costs about R1000. (2 adults 2 kids)

IMVHO, match-day spectators are dwindling because of ticket prices. For tomorrow, family of 4 costs about R1000. (2 adults 2 kids)

Guys i would rather pay R1000 for a family ticket to see the Currie Cup than the same for one ticket to see Arsenal?
It will be R300 to watch the boks at Murrayfield this winter...
