C+C
Don't start now. I have already commented. Wrong formation as far as I am concerned. Rooney should have been playing upfront.
Defence was useless. I thought Valaencia played OK in an unfamiliar role.

the positive from the first round of matches is that no team will walk away with the league

Little point commenting on Man U on this forum CnC - experience has shown that it is nearly always just a p*ss taking or "lets attack Man U for no good reason again" exercise for many rather than a decent "debate" ;) No need for violins, tis only a game after all .. :)

Any chance of you giving Everton their deserved credit? As a United fan everything did not go to plan but they were beaten by a better side and by a manager who will definately be on the short-list to be UNITEDS NEXT MANAGER.

lol... good morning CnC
Devon Air... the fact that Everton played the best game I have seen them perform in years should not overshadow United's faults, of which there were many imho.
Carrick marking the big fella??! Basic error. Valencia at RB? He is not a RB. If Rafael is not good enough, get someone else who is but in future games do not waste the potential talents of Jones or Smalling filling in there, they are not RBs either. Cleverley is a good player but he will not lead United to European glory. The same can be said of Welbeck. I hope I am proved wrong but they do not strike me as being truly world class players. Rooney is not Cantona or Sheringham, get him farking up there!!! Maybe he can link with RVP in that slot, that remains to be seen, but for me in that team, he has to play further forward. Not once can I remember United getting behind the Everton defence down the flanks and getting in a decent cross. How many crosses did United put into the area with no-one around the six yard box? We are not great aerially anyway. How many times did we see that little bit of ingenius creativity to break through the wall of Everton's defence as the lined up protecting their area? Those are just things off the top of my head... we weren't bad and imo we looked a much better side in defeat than Chelski looked in victory but we can't afford to be decent, we have to be much more than that if we want to win the EPL AND Champions League. Fergie has proved me wrong before and we often start slowly so absolutely all is not doom and gloom but the fact that the new signing looked a class apart speaks volumes to me.
I really thought, having lost the league last year as we did, Fergie would have them all revved up and rearing to go, to make a big statement of intent and delivery on the first day... it just wasn't there, disappointing.

Defensively I agree but then I was never convinced by him defensively.
Indeed, only the first game and I am hyper-critical of United too but just don't want them slipping into the mind-set that decent is good enough... there are plenty of decent teams, one of them beat us last night.

After everything has been said and done United took down all my atcomes.
Proteas doubled up with them and I could not even get an over 2 goals right.
How I wish I could get all these comments before the match.
Therefore Im hoping for a EPl thread to start going for after the LPool match ad well is a catchup story gor me.
Advice and guidance to be appreciated starting with Chelsea on Wednesday.
For tonight I need to take the two PSL matches on a max double under 2.5 goals.
Opions needed please and thanks.
