BREAKING NEWS ANOTHER 34 MINE WORKERS KILLED @ MARIKANA

Another 12 mine workers was killed today
apparently they attacked the police which retaliated and app 12 were killed

the 2 unions involved blames each other , the management and non mine workers
according to union spoke persons on either side they are blameless.

but they are not they are fighting for control as the union with the most members drives the negotiations and the more members the more money for union management and the NUM are losing members by the thousands and they want to stop it at all cost

Mine shoot-out: 3 minutes, 18 bodies

The Star reporter Poloko Tau gave a dramatic rundown of events on Twitter.

auto guns creacking and cocked like 100 at a time, scary...warzone down here, 1st shot fired

journalist running, diving and hiding amid shots, water canon spewing water at the strikers...

strikers fleeing...teargas coughs

deafening sound of low-flying choppers...several arrested and disarmed

Rustenburg - There is a hit list targeting members of the NUM at the troubled Lonmin [JSE:LON] mine, in North West, the union said on Thursday.

The man found dead on Tuesday in an open veld near the mountain where striking workers had gathered was a National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) shop steward, the union's president Frans Baleni said on Thursday.

Come on Zuma, solve this shise,,,,,,,but unfortunately you can;t,,,,,,what a 'shower'>:D<

Watching Quest means business and this is the headline topic. Also the headline on CNN. The sad thing is our government, and in particular our president does not deem it neccessary to even acknowledge the fact that people have died in labour conflict.

The mines are not nationalised [at least not yet anyway] and it seems to be a dispute between unions so where does the Govt. fit in the dispute?

Is it normal to have police around when workers are striking.

You kidding me. Where in the civilsed world does your government ignore the fact that citizens are killed in shootouts by the dozen ? If it happened in Canada, USA, Uk or Australia you reckon the government would say..'Ah well ... fark all to do with us.... its a labour dispute. Let us keep our heads in the sand'... Bloody hell they GOVERN this bloody country do they not?

Bottom line is that Vavi and his ilk will still support the ruling party and at the next election the lemmings will trudge off to the polls and happily re-elect the same party. The fact that schools have no textbooks and cops shoot miners will not matter one bit. How sad have things become ?

The sad thing is that when they do finally feel compelled to say something all we will hear is some rhetoric and bluster.... {deep sigh} ... No ways I retire in this country...
