RISH-bred Europa Point secured a Group 1 win for her sire Rock Of Gibraltar when landing the Group 1 L Jaffee Empress Club Stakes at Turffontein on Tuesday night.
The five-year-0ld mare, bred by Tom Molan and Westbury Bloodstock, was bought for 60,000gns at the 2008 Tattersalls Book 1 by agent Jehan Malherbe for Mary Slack's Wilgerbosdrift Stud.
She is out of the Woodman mare Gorband and is a half-sister to leading 2011 juvenile Harbour Watch, himself a 58,000gns Tattersalls December yearling.
Both Europa Point and Harbour Watch have sound stud credentials as their third dam is Fall Aspen, dam of 13 winners including Northern Aspen, Hamas, Timber Country, Fort Wood, and Colorado Dancer, dam of Dubai Millennium, and Elle Seule, dam of Elnadim and Mehtaaf.
