Any insights into how the "tote", recalculates the win payouts??

Winner paying approx R35 before scratching of favourite,....payout after scratching down to R17.

Seems like a massive drop in payout to me.

Seems about right to me. the bookies took a 60% deduction.

It would have been calculated by deducting the bets on the fav from the pool and then dividing the smaller pool by the winning tickets.

Well managed to get to the big T after traffic problems but a good night with Vee and Margaret and a few new owners, the results were poor but managed an exacta 1 and 2 many times on the way home (tu) However not an exotic man, probably desperation.
