I have always felt the best barometer for the most realistic odds is via Betfair

Love 2/1 ish
Enable 3/1 ish
Ghaiyyath 12/1 ish
Strad 20/1 ish
Raabihah 12/1 ish
Sottass 25/1 ish
Mishriff 80/1 plus

Use it or lose it 👍

Trainer Charlie Appleby said no decision had been made regarding the next target for Ghaiyyath, with the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, Irish Champion Stakes and Champion Stakes all still firmly in calculations.

One who is certain to line up at Ascot is the Gosden-trained three-year-old Mishriff, who has enjoyed a productive campaign headlined by victory in Group 1 Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly.

Was reading yesterday that Logician 2/1 was going to take on Enable 1/3 on Saturday at Kempton but has now been scratched, so you can expect Winx odds.

If I was the Big G I would say “I want the Arc”.

Enable towers above her rivals on form and should make short work of Group 3 opposition en route to the Arc.

As far as connections are concerned, all roads with Enable this summer have led to Longchamp on the first Sunday in October and a crack at winning a third Arc.

All eyes will be on Paris in October now as Enable completed her Arc preparation on what was almost certainly her last ever run on British soil, winning Kempton's Group 3 September Stakes at odds of 1-14.

As expected, Khalid Abdullah's supermare made the running and kicked clear of her rivals in the straight, scoring by seven lengths. Kirstenbosch was second, with Prince Of Arran third.

Now Enable will head to Longchamp next month as she bids to secure a record third success in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

Bookmaker reaction afterwards was generally to leave Enable unchanged for the Arc. Paddy Power left the six-year-old at 11-4, while Betfair go the same price, making Love their 7-4 favourite for next month's Group 1.

"All roads lead to Longchamp," said Frankie Dettori afterwards. "We came here to do the job, she felt good and the dream is still alive."

Following a lengthy delay to the race, Enable was slow out of the stalls before quickly hitting her stride and moving to the front. From there Dettori dictated affairs aboard his great partner before she kicked away from her rivals as you'd expect a horse who had over a stone in hand on official ratings to do.

"It's a new track we're riding on here and the surface felt very deep and sticky," said Dettori. "So turning in, even for a professional like her, she found it hard to get on a fresh leg, but once she did, that was it."

While this success was nothing like as impressive as when she beat Crystal Ocean in the race two years ago, it was all that was needed to fine-tune her for the big swansong in France.

Her trainer John Gosden was happy with the performance, saying: "She did it very nicely. Frankie was delighted with her. She's had a good blow, had a nice day out and got a bt of freshness off her.

"Today she was idling a bit it front and the race will have brought her along nicely. She'll now have a nice easy ten days and we'll build up to the Arc."

On the subject of her bid for an historic third win in France, he added: "What she's done already with all the races she's won is pretty extraordinary, so we'll just build it up one day at a time."

I was battling to find the ARC thread but just an update as we get closer.

Love has drifted slightly and 19/10 is now on offer
5/2 Enable could be the right one.
The 20/1 bar has gone and some money for the following
12/1 Raabihah
14/1 Stradivarius
18/1 Sottsass
20/1 Serpentine

Godolphin flagbearer Ghaiyyath is unlikely to take on Love and Enable in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on Sunday week with trainer Charlie Appleby favouring either the Qipco Champion Stakes or the Breeders' Cup Turf as a next target.

Ghaiyyath stormed to the head of the world rankings this summer with a trio of Group 1 wins on British soil but after finishing second to Magical in the Irish Champion Stakes this month, Appleby has indicated the Arc is likely coming too soon for the powerful front-runner.

"To be brutally honest, I think it's more a negative than a positive at the moment," said Appleby when considering the possibility of Ghaiyyath taking his chance in Paris.

"I feel after Champions Weekend [in Ireland] we'd probably be saying the Arc is an unlikely next start for him.

"He's put in four big performances. The first two or three were nicely spaced out but we know his last run was one of his quickest back-ups this season, so to say we're going for the Arc again and then looking for a target after that, would, in my opinion, be a big ask for a horse like him who puts in so much."

Racing Post

Olivier Peslier will ride star stayer and Enable's stablemate Stradivarius in the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp next Sunday, trainer John Gosden has revealed to the Racing Post.

Peslier, a senior member of the weighing room in France, has won the prestigious Group 1 four times and has come in for the mount as Frankie Dettori, the regular rider of Stradivarius, will be on board Enable as she seeks a record third Arc triumph.

Owned by Bjorn Nielsen, the six-year-old Stradivarius can be backed at 14-1 for the Arc.

"After discussions with Mr Nielsen we have decided to book Olivier Peslier for the ride on Stradivarius," Gosden said on Sunday.

"Obviously his course knowledge is second to none and we think he's the right fit for the horse."

Peslier, 47, won the Arc three times from 1996 to 1998 on Helissio, Peintre Celebre and Sagamix before a memorable victory in 2012 on Solemia, whose late thrust broke Japanese hearts when the brilliant, but quirky, Orfevre faltered late.
