Bavuma and van der Dussen did well but I fear that the overly cautious early approach by De Kock and Bavuma are going to see us 25-30 short of a winning total...

India to get to our score by the 46-47th over...

Probably won't make much of a difference as the Proteas did not make enough runs, but how come Rabada is 'resting' - only played 3 games, and has a month off before we go to NZ, so surely has to be playing - especially with Nortje injured

You wrote your team off far too early Frodo

Well done Proteas. As Frodo mentioned, van Dussen average is over 70 and Bavuma 55. They took us out of a tricky situation. Phelukwayo has an uncanny knack of picking up wickets. He has around 70 wickets with about 60 odd matches played.

When you out of form, nothing goes for you. Markram needs a big score to get some confidence back.

Unfortunately this ODI series against India dont carry points towards the World Cup Qualification.

The current top five batters look solid at the moment with three of them averaging over 55. We have an array of fast bowlers to choose from. The spinners, Shamsi and Maharaj is doing well and Linde is good back up. We only need a good all rounder. At the moment they choosing between Phelukwayo and Pretorius and Mulder was in the mix. Markram is bowling quite a few overs which gives us another option.

Things are looking bright. As soon as Bavuma fails the knives will be out though. He deserves a chance as he is a good captain and now replacement at the moment.

On another note, Dewald Brevis, is doing extremely well at the U19 World Cup with the bat. Plus he bowls. They calling him Baby AB as he looks similar to AB.

We did extremely well...standout performances from 3-4 players in each match...
We did let a few get away from us in the field - a few too many dropped catches and misfields and overthrows...
We also had a good few lucky moments at important stages...such is the game that you get a run of good and then there will be a run of not so good...
None of the three players will end their careers with averages more than 45 though well over 50 currently...
Bavuma respects his players' input - can see it in how field placings are done with each bowler - yes, there will be criticism when things do not go too well but that is par for the job...

The knives are out for Boucher and Smith...does make it a little more difficult to get rid of them when team is winning but CSA have made their intentions known...Nkwe was interim coach, replaced on permanent basis by Boucher as head coach when Smith was appointed, Nkwe took on assistant coach role and when SJN hearings started went off to give evidence to get rid of Boucher...guess who next head coach is likely to be?

The SJN report says findings are "tentative" yet CSA want to hold a disciplinary hearing to get rid of him...if Boucher has let race determine his treatment of past team-mates and current players and coaching staff, then he must face the consequences that come...no matter how well the team does though, the politics have taken over completely...

By the way, what's going in the Aus Open tennis? After deportation comedy show, who wants to watch on court drama??

Sad state of the world @cnc...technology was supposed to expand one's world but the reality is that it has made it smaller and closed for many...

A score of 340 was there to achieve but they threw away 4 wickets. I think that India will chase the 288 down

At 210/2 after 35 overs, I was telling the wife that we could end with 310-320...good fight back by India...

Notice how similar the totals were in all three matches...

Well Phehluwayo proved me wrong and we fluked the last one as well - but serious doubts in my mind about our captaincy ito fielding positions - and Ngidi almost threw it away with persisting with bowling wides outside the off-stump (with 3rd man in the ring) - and why Phehlukwayo did not bowl at least the 46th or 47th over I can't figure out - anyway it was a good series win given that neither Rabada nor Nortje was playing B)
