US Open Tennis 2017

Still about a month away, but let's start the debate:

Federer: would be amazing if he wins 3 slams this year. I can't write him off

Nadal: if he is fit he will go deep, no question

Wawrinka: if Wawrinka were a horse he would be termed 'inconsistent'. Really depends on his motivation levels. He has gone deep in his favored slams this year and has 2000 points to defend for his ranking so I expect maximum effort

Murray: if he's okay, he will be trying, but the question is whether he is fit enough

Del Potro and Cilic: both won the US Open before and have what it takes. Certainly not wasted money if you bet on them

Nishikori: this is my long shot punt. He is probably the best of the current players not to have won a Slam. Went to the final before and can go one better

Dark Horses: Zverev, Thiem, Khachanov, Raonic, Pouille
