I guess we all have to keep a look out for TOP MARK (BRZ) it has to something special if it's in the early nominations...

Another interesting de Kock entry is Gibraltar Blue - making her local debut this Saturday for a bloke called Jooste (where have I heard that name before); also no Pierre Jourdan - so he is unlikely to go to KZN after a hard Gauteng season - wise move imo

If PJ wins the Triple Crown I doubt he will stay in SA. Sold to the highest bidder.
Forest Path at big odds on his fav track for me

PJ winning the Triple Crown is not a foregone conclusion imo (but the offers may still be tempting enough even if he gets beat); the point I was trying to make is that should he stay in SA, he is unlikely to go to KZN as a 3yr old.
Would be interesting to see if Russian Sage is still the horse he was before his overseas campaign; I seem to recall that Mr Irwin mentioned something a while ago in terms of the horse having picked up some or other problem?

If R Sage comes back to himself I think he could be a huge runner as I always rated him one of the best of his generation. Same MR as Service Ace?

Service Ace got a huge penalty for running 5th in the Classic (6pts) -

Gold Circle Media release
This year’s R3 million Vodacom Durban July (Grade 1) promises to be a smashing event after 67 entries were received at first entries stage for Africa’s Greatest Horseracing Event.
The announcement of the entries was the focal point of the official launch of Champions Season at a function held at Greyville Racecourse yesterday (Thursday).
Former Vodacom Durban July winner Pocket Power and defending champion Big City Life were among the entries as were the two Western Cape champions Bravura and Noordhoek Flyer.
As expected the powerful Mike de Kock yard dominated with 13 entries while champion trainer Charles Laird (5) and Sean Tarry (6) were also prominent, but a marked feature of this year’s entry was the number of trainers with only one or two horses nominated. In all there were entries from 28 different stables.
Kumaran Naidoo and Michael de Beer were two trainers with first time entries while Mike Stewart, who seldom makes the trip up from the Western Cape for the winter, has two entries.
For the first time in 113 years, the race has been moved from the first Saturday in July to the last Saturday, July 31, to avoid a clashwith the soccer World Cup.
There are two other supplementary stages for the race with the first being on Monday, June 7, and the second on Monday July 5. The weights will be published on Tuesday, July 6 with the final field being announced live on Tellytrack on Thursday, July 15.
The famous and very popular July gallops, in which all horses will participate as a condition of entry, will be held at Greyville on Thursday, July 22.
The race will be run over 2200 m at Greyville Racecourse on Saturday, July 31, the last day and a fitting finale to Champions Season 2010.
