So when PJ wins the Derby......?

He rightly becomes a `great`, a part of history, especially because he only cost a handful of jelly beans,(this should be used and pushed all over the country) what do you think of the crop that he has been up against? imo they are a decent bunch and if PJ wins the triple crown he should be up there with the great horses of the past?

What you think?

Morning Bob, a bit out of touch, back on home soil late last night, but at this stage not one of the "greats" but time could prove me wrong and its always good to have a champ to get people back to the track.

There seems to be a consensus that this is a strong crop, but it may not be true, at least not yet.

Behind PJ, the ratings of those close to him were: 99,97,99,98,95 and 90 (Iliad 4.00L).

The time for the race was a hair slower than the Fillies 1800, and well behind Smart Banker.

Noordhoek Flyer (Cape Guineas winner) returns to the track on Sat in a Graduation Plate.

Now Lizard's Desire running to a rating better than Pocket Power...that's another cup of tea ;)

I WONDER how musir and raihana would have gone if they stayed behind for their 3yo careers

Hibs.... I *love* your confidence :) I guess it takes a lot for a horse to be deemed "great" by the greater public... if his reception to the winners enclosure was anything to go by, he is already held in high regard. I have no doubt that he will win the SA Derby.... Gary Alexander doesn't have a bad record in the Derby... SIlver Sliver, Timber Trader to name a couple...

Welcome back Scotia,Hibby PJ won very easily on Sat OVER 1800m on a testing track and if the mighty De Kock stable dont unleash a champion on the day, i think PJ will be our next champion.

the word champion is used to often in this industry mr zorro, lets remember firstly that your features are regional and there are a few nice cape 3yos namely bravura and dean kanemeyers horse around and secondly lets wait and see how mr jordan does outside his home course and home province..he has never had to get onto a float in his life to race elsewhere nevermind travel to another province

Fair comment Pirates but Winning 5 from 6 for a R60.000 purchase, and winning whatever is thrown at him ,surelly must excite his connections and the public.

of course its exciting but lets remember the last CHAMPION to win the triple crown was horse chestnut who won the cape guineas and then a small feature called the met by 8 LENGTHS beating the july winner classic flag...that qualifies to use the word champione

Either way he is a champion in his own right . For a purchase of 60k owners don't expect much . He is showing he is not a course and distance specialist but a all rounder. The Alexanders and owners should be chuffed . Well done people .

Yes pirates you are correct . Go read the crap thats posted by South Africa's finest detectives , Steven and Adios !! Both are a match made in heaven . Is Detsky a person or a horse ? I believe they meant Radeskty . For whatever reason they have now made him a target to abuse . Poor guy comes on here and is open about his runners something I never have the guts to do . And now they insult him . You are the company you keep pirates .
