This False start Enquiry

Why did it take so long for it to be called?
And if it was found to be a false start, what possible outcomes could there be? none? a wrap on the Knuckles? Met race replay

Investigation into the start of the J & B Met run on 30 January 2010
An investigation into the reason that the starting stalls opened prematurely in the above race has been concluded. After questioning several employees from Gold Circle and the National Horseracing Authority who were present at the start it was established that there was no fault with the starting stalls or the manner in which they were deployed at the start and that the stalls opened as a result of the Starter accidently leaning on the start button before all the horses had been loaded.
The evidence also revealed that a different system to start races is used at the Durbanville Racecourse to that used at Kenilworth Racecourse and it has been recommended to Gold Circle Management that the system used at Durbanville Racecourse which is more suited for the purpose be employed at Kenilworth Racecourse. The starting staff has also been instructed to test the starting stalls before the start of every race.
The Starter, Mr F Bosman has been sanctioned in terms of The National Horseracing Authority’s staff disciplinary code.
