exotic payouts on betting sites
15 years 4 months ago
Hi guys can someone please explain to me if this is standard practice.
I hit the pa today x80 , on my betslip the payout shows R14,568.00 but my account was only credited with R13,693.92.
There is a difference of 6% which has been taken off. Is this a standard practice with betting sites?
If not, are there any sites that offer less than 6% "TAX" or do they all take 6 %?
Thanks
Im still learning the ropes , my apologies if its a stupid question.

The bet was with world sports , I did phone and they said they take 6% on all horse racing.
I was just wondering if other sites do this as well? or are there sites that offer a lesser % as I feel 6% is high considering I am already getting taxed on my payout from the tote.

Yeah you right, I just found it.
Terms and Conditions
Betting Tax
There is no betting tax on all sports and lotto bets. However, all winning horse racing transactions are subject to a 6% betting tax. In the case of a mixed sports/horse racing multiple, winnings will be subject to 6% betting tax, even if the sports event is scratched or abandoned.
Think im gonna give Hollywood a shot.

seems like suddenly there are a few guys having "problems" with bookmakers! Amazing how it coincides with TOTE DIVIDENDS being a problem or am I just being a cynical old fool?(Maybe I've been on the forums too long?)
