Hi Xtra/Tommy here's one for you guys the CORNELL COLLAR vet-aire.com/
this device has been used for a while in sa and I'm not sure where it is noted in the various publications(Magic Karl pls help and anyone from Computaform) As far as I know it is pretty expensive (I think between 6-8k). It does improve horses dramatically (see Tyger Tyger first run placed third 8-10-2009 and the horse no longer returns with breathing noise) Something to take note of when horses go down but should be published in racecards

Greg I stand under correction but these collars are fitted for the individual horse so cannot be used on another horse so if an owner shells out the dosh for one of them then you must think the horse has some type of ability

Mr. H,

I have heard of trainers mentioning the Cornel Collar, and on occasion I have heard it mentioned in the pre race preview.....but let me also say that on;y after it has been mentioned in the horses previous win!!!!!!

So not sure how forthcoming the info is on the CC, but it would be of help especially for those with breathing problems!!!

I think it is used as an alternate to certain breathing operations but should be listed as extra racing equipment somewhere
