Scotia on the Week-end
15 years 6 months agoGood morning all and hope we are ready for another good weekend, where the action changes to the Cape.
What a card at Kenilworth for Sat. Cape Fillies Guineas and the Southern Cross Stakes but the star attraction to pull the crowds will be the clash between PP and BCL.
An unexpected early matchup! Pocket Power vs Big City Life this Saturday
Its not a bad card at the big T, where the match race between Seattle Ice and Dan De Lago should be a good clash and the IPI Tombe challenge is also on the card.
Overseas action will be the Tingle Creek from Sandown where Big Zeb, Twist Magic and the unsound but talented Well Chief should fight it out.
Kauto continues to shorten for the King George on Boxing Day 7/10, in preparation for his anticipated clash with Denman in the CGC where they are 22/10 joint favs.
Well Chief
As far as the football, the EPL again is turning into a two horse race with Arsenal's charge gone and it will be very difficult for Utd to catch Chelsea but the game has many twists and turns, just ask the Irish, they wanted to be the tirty tree and a turd team in the World Cup, but not to be.
Thursday saw the first leg from three of the Workriders Challenge at the Vaal, good to see the young lads and lassies getting a chance to shine Click here for Images and more
In response to a thread we had running on the site "Breeder of the year" Mick Goss made this reply: Reply from Mick Goss
What about "Tiger" must be under a bit pressure these days, with his looks and bank balance must have had females at his feet for years, much the same as scotia, but mine have been chiropodists.
Looks like things have been sorted out?
Have family arriving this weekend, so more social events are on the cards, but with my intensive training this year I am ready for them.
We had another record breaking month in November (see stats), the growth continues and thanks for support, prepared for a dip over the festive season, but its difficult to use a laptop when driving, so be careful.
Good punting and may your God be with you

Super sub McCoy seeks Tingle glory on Forpady
TONY McCOY came in for a winning spare ride aboard Master Minded in last year's Tingle Creek Chase and is a deputy again in this year's running aboard Forpadydeplasterer.
Barry Geraghty has chosen to ride Big Zeb in the Keith Prowse Hospitality-sponsored Grade 1 over last season's Arkle winner, who was given the go-ahead by trainer Tom Cooper on Friday morning, following ground concerns.
McCoy, speaking to Betfred bookmakers, said: "Barry Geraghty has opted to ride Big Zeb, who was very impressive last time out at Navan, and he obviously fancies him a bit more than Forpadydeplasterer.
"Hopefully, it will be a great race and Forpadydeplasterer will put up a big show."
Geraghty, who rode Moscow Flyer to win the Tingle Creek in 2003 and 2004, has a record of four wins from seven rides on Big Zeb, the most recent of those victories having come in the Grade 2 Fortria Chase at Navan early last month.
The Colm Murphy-trained eight-year-old has been let down by his jumping on occasions and has fallen on four of his 11 outings over fences. But for a bad blunder at the final fence, he would almost certainly have beaten Master Minded instead of losing out by a head to the dual Champion Chase winner in the Kerrygold Champion Chaseat the Punchestown festival in April.
Murphy said: "Plenty is being made of Big Zeb's jumping this week, but he jumped well in the Fortria and there is every reason to believe that the Railway Fences will make him concentrate more."
A 7.30am inspection has been called at Sandown for Saturday's meeting with up to 10mm of rain forecast to hit the course. However, clerk of the course Andrew Cooper believes the card "should be fine".

Stylish Twist Magic lands second Tingle Creek
Report: Sandown, Saturday
Keith Prowse Hospitality Tingle CreekChase (Grade 1) 2m, 4yo+
TWIST MAGIC won his second Tingle Creek in three years under a masterclass ride from Ruby Walsh at Sandown on Saturday.
The victory also gave trainer Paul Nicholls his seventh win in the race in the last 11 years, as Twist Magic, who returned at 9-4, never saw another rival.
Twist Magic, who fell when running a decent race against stablemate Master Minded last year, produced an awesome round of jumping that had his rivals, which included 15-8 favourite Big Zeb and Well Chief, in trouble a long way from home.
Arkle winner Forpadydeplasterer (9-2) was the only real challenger but failed to land a blow before finishing a distant second.
In the absence of Master Minded, who missed the Keith Prowse-sponsored Tingle Creek with a fractured rib, Twist Magic was afforded the chance to give Nicholls another big-race Saturday triumph following victories on consecutive weekends for Kauto Star in the Betfair Chase and Denman in the Hennessy - and he did not disappoint.
Travelling smoothly in ground that was thought not to be ideal for him, Twist Magic met every fence with impressive accuracy and earned quotes of 7-1 (from 25) and 8-1 (from 20) for the Seasons Holidays Queen Mother Champion Chase from Paddy Power and William Hill, with Hills also trimming Master Minded to 7-4 (from 9-4) for the race.
"That was his very best performance," said a beaming Nicholls.
"It was a very good run first time out at Exeter and he was awesome today. He goes out on his own at home because he's a bit of a monkey but that was good and, tactically, it was a brilliant ride.
"Ruby didn't get enough credit for his ride on Denman, but that was spot on."
Walsh, who had only partnered two of Nicholls' previous Tingle Creek winners, added: "He jumped the first couple well and he never missed a beat. It was a terrific performance and Paul was very keen on him. I just though he was spectacular.
"To ride a good two mile chaser round here is as good a feeling you can get riding a horse."
There was to be no fairytale for Well Chief, who claimed the scalp of Master Minded at Cheltenham last month, as he never looked to be enjoying himself under Timmy Murphy, while Big Zeb's jumping, as expected, came under too much pressure.

Hearts were robbed today by possibly the worst ref ever to ref a game of football. He sent off two Hearts players for nothing and denied Hearts the most clear cut penalty anyone has seen. Hamilton Academical won 2-1
