I have watched the pools skyrocked in the last 2 minutes before each race.....This is obviously when the comingled money arrives into the saftote pools.

Sometimes you will reap the benefit as a horse you have backed for a place will drift alarmingly from R1.2 to R2.1 and sometimes you will be at the mersey of the "reversal of fortunes".

These are the strife we have to deal with due to large sums of money coming in from all around the world via the Isle of Man hub.

The fact that the place pool was double the size of the win pool and that the vast majority of the money kept coming for a 1/6 fav that never showed better than 30cents a place on the scroll is very strange to me.

By the way, I am not a punter and did not have any interest in the result other than I happened to catch the race on Tellytrack.

Have to agree, with my visit to the tote, it was early morning so no big races, just Australia, but many bets get placed just before the off. Then you have the cancelled bets a major problem which can happen into the race, cant remeber how many secs, but check my post, then the SA numbers sent to Aus, then Aus added and then sent back, so many changes during the race or after the off.
Stick to a bookie, at least you know what you are getting

imo

Looking for a BEE partner in Government..
then I start a new tote..
Mauritius have 2 tote operators..
we can too..

will use the lotto outlets....pick and pay tills...post office.. and have website to view all tickets from which terminal with time, date stamps....real time...
no bullshit to the punters...
outstanding tickets can be viewed...lifetime..

competition is good...

as stated by others the tote guarantees R1 a place - if that horse ran unplaced i expect the other horses would pay more than what was shown as the majority of tickets would then be gone

I have strange stomach movements from time to time. But these tote variances are just as concerning.

I can't find the correct thread so i'm using this one - some of the crazy tote dividends lately might just be playing into the bookies hands - 16-1(20-1 maybe) on ISLAND RANDSOM - tote R6 odd(Molly even commented as did Cecil) punters not fools and may just start to migrate to books rather than play on a tote that is being swamped by external cash

If you look at the horses form it is pretty solid.

In AUS all you will see in the form guides is the following:

Island Randsom 4V14, 4T13, 2V14

Nevermind owner, trainer, jock, rest form NADA....Thats some good form to the trained eye.

There can be NO doubt that there is some fantastic opportunities out there for people who watch the tote and back with the books. (and visa versa)

As AW would say. "Let's use the system in our favour....beat them at their own game!!!!"

Tommy same horse 22-1 with the books and R6.90 the win on the tote!!!

Guess who will suffer in the near future, Phum and I won't have any sympathy when the pools drop by 20%....GET Rid of this co-mingling sh!t, SA punter on a hiding to nothing.
