MET, maybe not boring

After this weekend, you can feel the strategies beginning to wind up for the Met. I had thought 'same old' for the Met but already significant changes are emerging.

River Jetez was beaten 2.50 lengths by Ivory Trail in her season debut last year. Although she won against ordinary company on Saturday, she did appear and she did perform.

It's very noticeable that neither Pocket Power nor Big City Life have been 'ready' to appear, and the clock is ticking.

Last year Kapil took a run or two to get going, but this year wins the Merchants first time out sans Pocket Power, remembering that in his last start Kapil was only 0.50 behind Pocket Power over 2200. (OK, and 5.5kgs).

The news would have to be then that the supporting caste are out early and firing while the main contenders are struggling to fire up dem beeg engines. This could turn out to be interesting after all.
