Runs for the 111 time on Friday in PE.

Long Career. 12 Wins.

Most with the late Buddy Maroun.

MR way down has a shout for win no 13

Except that if memory serves Friday's race is not a handicap so reduced MR won't help. Agree that he is a tough old soldier, though.

The six kgs will get him closer than the 12l Hear the drums beat him the last time they met!

The 1300m is the real potential Achilles' Heel for Hear The Drums, especially if there's a headwind. The race is not nearly so cut and dried as simple arithmetic may imply. But I struggle to visualize TGB winning it.

There may not be too many races for HEar the Drums so they are forced to run him here, but I cannot for the life of me understand why they would take on 1300m with this horse......

Hope I'm wrong and he wins as he likes.

I'm going wide though

Did they not have big plans this season?

HTD may get away with it on a sharp course like Arlington and the opposition is a bit thin. But I have to have some doubts and Mazar E Sharif could be a big runner if he can find his best form again.

TGB has won with 66kg in the past. Must have a shout especially if HTD is suspect over the distance,if not he will win by 5 or more lengths.

Majestic lad and whirling and if Hear the Drums drifts in the betting, will have a sentimental bet on him, very scared of the trip though..

I agree 200% with hibernia on all counts. Majestic Lad is my best of the day with Whirling a close 2nd best. I also like Lulu Belle but have big respect for Royal Extravagance and Favourite Island. The 1000m may be a bit short for the latter, though.
