Welcome to the out-of-season long haul KZN.. in full swing and high time to whip out your formguide of choice and get down to some good old collateral form analysis. Local trainers have wasted no time springing into action now they have the playing field to themselves so there’s sure to be a few good things to lift spirits like only profit-making can.
This week-end James Goodman and I will be previewing the Scottsville meeting in audio format, bringing you behind-the-scenes insight and trainers’ comments race by race. The preview will be available for download on Saturday night/Sunday morning right here on Facebook. If you would like to receive a notification and link to the audio clip as it becomes available, send an email to leon@interbetsa.co.za with the subject line – subscribe audio
There’s quite a bit of confidence floating around Summerveld for Sunday’s meeting at Scottsville, in particular Mark Dixon with his grey French Leader in the 6th race (pictured) at the exciting price of 12/1, and Dylan Cunha with his filly Shahar (4/1) in the 1st. In the same race Alistair Gordon is expecting a competitive first time effort from Crystal Road (10/1) who is showing ability at home, and from the De Kock yard - Headstrong (8/10) who ‘has an each way chance’ according to assistant trainer Nathan Kotzen. For the rest of the trainers’ comments for Sunday’s meeting, catch the audio preview.
French Leader (12/1) runs in the 6th race on Sunday at Scottsville
and is rated as a ‘big runner’ by his trainer Mark Dixon
Stable companion Umngazi (also race 6) @ 20/1 is prone to bleeding and
has been unable to fulfill his buckets of earlier promise.
He’s all muscle at the moment, looking superb and a glimmer of hope
shines through for him after a much improved performance last time out
Race 5 – The leggy stayer Elusive Model (15/10) tackles Scottsville
2400m for the 3rd time in succession and will be looking to atone for her
defeat last time out.
Assistant trainer Nathan Kotzen commented that she wasn’t suited to the
slow pace in that race and did well to run 2nd under the circumstances.
Takes on the boys this time
Punting excellence came into its own this week when Interbet launched the next phase of their cellphone betting platform - full Tote betting facilities! now available alongside access to SA’s best fixed odds on the famous Interbet Bookies’ exchange.. If you haven’t had a look yet, haul out the cellphone it’s a must-see!
To access the mobi-site, open the internet browser on your mobile phone and type in the web address - interbetsa.mobi – that’s it. Fill in your username and password as per usual and navigate through the options using the superfast online mobi-interface. It’s child’s play to use, works on any GPRS cellphone and there’s no software downloads necessary. This is the future of punting; one phone, one betting account, and direct access to both Tote and Bookmaker wholesale-best odds across all horse racing and sports betting markets. This is good news, but needs marketing to get to the general public, not just teletrack viewers should boom pools.
