£2 Scoop6 punter takes winnings to £500k


THE anonymous £2 punter who won last weekend's Scoop6 took his winnings to over £500,000 after successfully picking the winner of the bonus race at Sandown on Saturday.

Aftermuch deliberation, the punter went for Fanjura in the Sandown race and was delighted to see Frankie Dettori steer him home to win by a length.

After learning he will collect a further £150,541, the punter said: "I'm a rich man and all for £2 thanks to the Totescoop6. I still can't believe I won last week so I'm in total shock now. I nearly went for Antinori but Frankie knows when he's got a good horse under him and it showed.

"It really has changed my life forever as my mother isn't well and I now can give her what she deserves. I'd like to extend my thanks to everyone at the Tote for giving me the opportunity to have some quality andfun in my life."

Totepool spokesman George Primarolo said: "Hats off to our £2 punter who not only picked six winners last weekend but has come up trumps in the bonus race as well.

Victory for Blue Jack saw the Scoop6 won for the second consecutive weekend and it was the second win this year for the Elite Racing Club's Saturday Six Club.

A total of £215,644 was bet into Saturday's pool but there was only one winning ticket which staked £9,600 and they now go forward to next weekend where they could boost their winnings to over £100,000 as the bonus fund now starts at £32,346.

There were 485 winners of the place fund, each of whom picks up £88.90 each.

One lucky Italian punter has scooped a record £127m in what Italy claims is Europe's biggest lottery jackpot.
