Pound for pound the Cape has the best horses in the country. Not to mention many of the best farms. However, nobody is forcing anyone to take an interest.

Not sure that I agree, imo out of season everywhere is pretty bleak; perhaps with the exception of Gauteng where 'sprouters' like the November Handicap day and the Emerald Casino day make up for some real bottom of the barrel stuff

Aside from weather related problems I don't agree, Mike. Gauteng's off season is vastly worse and as for KZN's seemingly endless off season - no comment!

thought the guys that could not READ OR WRITE had to stay behind..crossing the orange river...
when they passed the VAAL river...the ones that could not WRITE had to stay behind..

hence, we find all the pretty girls in capetown.......??????

as for the horses....the VAAL SAND too hard for them....

Check the KZN results from the last Feature season and remember that the Cape's in training horse population is much smaller than Gauteng's. Then you will appreciate that they are currently tops, hard as it always is for some Gautengers to realize that the world doesn't revolve around them.
