Archipenko pleases Shea

AFTER completing his final turf workout before the Coral-Eclipse, Archipenko "felt great" according to jockey Kevin Shea, who partnered the five-year-old on Newmarket's July Course on Wednesday.

The Mike de Kock-trained Group 1 winner galloped over a mile with Diana's Choice (Juan Nel) and pulled a couple of lengths clear in the closing stages.

Archipenko won the Group 2 Plymouth Gin Summer Mile on his first run in this country for De Kock at Ascot last July, and was beaten only three quarters of a length by Spirit One in the Arlington Million last August, but has not run since finishing sixth in the Audemars Piquet QE II Cup at Sha Tin in April.

Shea said: "He felt great and was a bit too strong for the filly. He was on the grass last week for a piece of easy work, but this time we made him work a little bit harder and he seemed to take it quite well.

"He's pretty fit and we will not work him on the grass again before the Eclipse, he will just have a spin on the Al Bahathri polytrack.

"There is a going to be strong field for the Eclipse, as always, but if you haven't got a ticket then you haven't got a chance."

Audemars Piquet QE II Cup at Sha Tin in April.....

refresh my memory...

De Kock had 2 runners on the day, both were short priced..
Shea also tipped them to run well..
.... IN THE CITIZEN...

Truth is...both looked like dogs when they arrived and had no chance on the condition they were in....

JJ the JETPLANE....
De Kock says...the horse is inferior to the Australian sprinters...
.... IN THE CITIZEN YESTERDAY...
