Clairwood - Big Day Out

Definitely. I will post some pics of him tonight. Nice to have. In 30 years when they do another gretest of all time show I will be able to show my kid the pictures and say I was a few feet away from the great horse.

The turn out at clairwood was better than last year. Clairwood is a lovely course but the track was not in a good shape at all.

Kapil was the least of the standout lookers in the ring but came home like his tail was on fire.

River Jetez really looked good in the ring and is probably the biggest danger to the Champ on 04 July.

If the champ fails - Kapil for me though. Stan Elly had a broad grin in the second box and so he should have this race will bring Kapil on perfectly. I just worry about the July distance for Kapil.

Kapil ran a good race but the Greyville track will be a different ballgame.....PP and RJ to fight out the July.PP had PLENTY left in his tank...and thats from the pilots mouth!

Hotline - Sorry that I just dissapered - Wife called and was setting the deadline to be home for a function that I was not pre warned on. Watched the main race tokk some snaps and made my way back home. Was great to be at the races again though.

Looking at Formgrids - Kapil beat Hunting Tower over 1600 at Greyville. I was on HT on that day. Greyville does not concern me with Kapil. The last 2 july's have shown that horses can run on and win. HT came from almost the back at the turn when he won. PP and DD were closer to the back than the front at the turn and both won. Kapil will need a good ride and a good judge of pace. Strydom is all of the above if he retains the ride and Kapil has to have a chance.

If not the July he must be a serious contender for the Gold Challenge. Perhaps Im making the same mistake as last year with the July selection.

That was the KZN GUineas of 2006. I was on Kapil that day.
He came from last and must have been 15+ lengths behind turning for home

I think he will definetely get the trip. He was virtually last at the 400 in this years Met and finished 4th despite not getting the clearest of runs. Now significantly better off with both PP and RJ

After Sat. i am even more convinced that this years July is Pocket Power v Kapil

Yes - eventually someone who agrees with me. Pocket the Champ Kapil the value.

I think Kapil is best over 1600 and is doubtful to stay the 2200; however I have occasionally been wrong before - lol
