Tartan Bearer favourite to clinch first Group 1
TARTAN BEARER, last year's Derby runner-up, has been installed favourite to clinch his first Group 1 victory in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes, the showpiece race of the second day of Royal Ascot.
Peter Reynolds, Ballymacoll Stud's manager, said trainer Sir Michael Stoute had been "very happy" with the colt despite him having to miss the Tattersalls Gold Cup because the ground was too testing.
Tartan Bearer, winner of the Gordon Richards Stakes on his comeback, was made 2-1 favourite by William Hill, Coral and Totesport after the four-year-old was one of nine acceptors for a race that has also attracted Vision D'Etat and Never On Sunday from France, as well as Twice Over.

Apologies but I don't know too much about South African form and was wondering if someone could help me with Mythical Flight who runs in the King's Stand Stakes over 5f (1000m) on decent, fast ground on Tuesday.
From what I have read he needs a straight 5 furlongs to be seen to his best so I think he looks massively overpriced at 30's on Betfair in the UK and I was thinking that he must trailblaze and at least touch shorter in-running for a trade ?
Just wondering if his defeats last season were largely due to him running over 6f rather than some other problem ? I hear he has had a problem with a corn recently but has supposedly worked ok in Newmarket. Seems a very interesting contender so would appreciate thoughts on whether he was a decent each-way bet or for a trade as the field is not that strong I feel apart from the Aussie horse perhaps.
Thanks in advance.

Can`t help you with the form, but he did have a corn removed and Sean Tarry was expecting him to be 100% for the race ..

Welcome Dave, Mythical Flight is very fast and will probably try and lead from start, so your theory to take 30/1 and trade out, is 100%, expect it to lead, but might not hold on.

His last run in Singapore wasn't very good (beaten just over 7 lengths by Sacred Kingdom) but his previous one in Hong Kong was very decent. If I recall correctly, he lead for much of the way before eventually finish 7th by only just over 2 lengths off the winner. Marchand D'or only beat him by a shorthead. Both those races were over 6 furlongs and around a bend. A straight 5 furlongs will suit him much better.
