Scotia mid-week on "ante post"
16 years 3 weeks agowww.africanbettingclan.com ..
Good morning all, have got into the swing of this mid-week posting, hope you are well and backing the winners?
I am sure you have been enjoying your visits to the Forum, thanks to Bob, Garrett and his team for the new graphic approach, video links and support.
It has been great to see Susan Boyle on video from day one with her rise to fame and the superb wins from Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta 10 from10, Incidentally Susan is evens for "Britain's got talent" but many first class acts to beat.
As normal could be another social week with the Champions final tonight and the Super 14 on Sat.
So as they say in the classics "if things get any better, I wont be able to handle it".
The sad news is that Dancers Daughter wont make the July and the "Pocket Rocket" has gone 18/10, but 22/10 on Interbet. River Jetez 4/1 and Big City Life 11/2 and for the more adventurous Thandolwami is 40/1.
As far as the English Oaks and Derby on 5th and 6th of June, we still have Sariska at the top of the boards at 7/2, Rainbow View 5/1 and Midday 11/2 for the fillies race and for the colts we have Sea the Stars 33/10, Fame and Glory 4/1 and the heavily supported Rip Van Winkle now at 5/1, and who want to go against Aidan O'Brien in the big races?
Ascot still remains a mystery, but one cant help feeling that J.J. the Jet Plane has to have a chance of glory, but his chosen event the Golden Jubilee looks stronger than the Kings Stand Stakes, but the 5 furlongs might be sharp? Will have to leave it in the capable hands of MDK, whatever, all the best to the connections. Look forward to Monday night at Winsor and all the best to a couple of lucky Clansmen who will be in attendance. Field has been posted on Forum.
Gold Cup where it looks like a match race with the champ Yeats taking on the young pretender Patkai, who is now a firm favourite.
Have been really enjoying the racing from the States and the million dollar question for the Belmont is, will the filly run? if not the 12/10 on Mine That Bird would be a steal.
Will have to soon be talking about dog racing in SA if everything goes to plan, so the English Derby final is on Saturday night and is very open, would side with Fear Zafonic at 4/1.
If you are into U.K. Politics the Conservatives look a cert to take over after the next election, but would you really vote for any of them? What a shambles, the UK public should have a good old African "stayaway".
The French open is underway and Nadal looks good to win the men's title, but Safina at 5/2 for the ladies can be beat by Sarena Williams at 8/1.
On the soccer front massive game tonight and the bookies have eventually found a slight fav in Man.Unt to beat Barcelona, we have booked the pub and will be in full force from the start of happy hour and hope for a classic.
Looking a bit further forward to 2010, yes its nearly here! As normal Brazil head the boards with Argentina and Spain at 11/2, England 9/1 and the hosts 150/1. Top African teams are Ivory Coast at 40/1 and Nigeria at 100/1.
As far as the rugby, the Bulls are hot at 4/10 to lift the trophy and we will again be having a big party in Pretoria and only pray they win. As far as the Lions tour, should be some great rugby and SA are as hot as the Bulls to win the series, so maybe 3-0 might be the better option?
If you are a motor racing fan Jenson Button is 4/10 for the drivers championship, so maybe you should take 13/10 for the Sports Personality award.
Now remember the "competition", a few forgot to post due to it starting on Friday night, but plenty time to catch the leader.
Good punting and may your God be with you.
