Brents weekend!

Hi Everyone,
Just one more week until we get some quality rugby so be sure to look out for our 6 Nations outright preview next week.
A lot of my interest this week is on the golf but I have had a good look at the soccer and reckon there may be a few prices worth taking on.
Let’s start with the value bet:
3 units Free State Stars to beat Wits at 1.54/1 with World of Sport (15/10 at Hollywood)
I think this is worth backing on price alone and I do not believe the quotes will last but that remains to be seen.
My preview of the PSL is on site but the relevant stats in this game are that Stars have won their last 3 home matches including a 4-1 thumping of Supersport, Wits have taken only 1 point from 9 this year and have lost away to lowly Bay United. Stars are as short as 8/10 with Betting World and I would have had them around 11/10 so the 1.54/1 must be challenged.
Also on the value front have a unit on Man U to beat Everton 1-0 at 7/1 with Betting World
Full EPL previews on site but for this bet know that I like the price because United have won 6 from their last 9 matches 1-0 (they beat 10 men 5-0 in midweek), have not conceded in 11 matches and Everton are very short of strikers and goal shy on the road.
BEST BET
I like more than 2.5 goals in the Arsenal match and it can be backed at 8/10 with Betxchange and Pearl Betting.
I was going to have a huge strike as both teams play attractive football creating plenty of chances but my enthusiasm was tempered by the fact that in their last 5 matches against each other there have been 2 goals or less. I am backing that to change but going easy on the stake.
Bet: 3 units more than 2.5 goals in Arsenal West Ham match at 8/10 with Betxchange (the double with less than 2.5 in United game works out at 9/4)
SUPER 14
It’s only 2 weeks away and the search is on as to just who the best tipster is.
FantasySports have launched their Super 14 Handicap League which sees entrants making handicap calls on all of the matches each week. It’s a great competition for punters but also those learning to bet and I will be putting together a big mini league.
There is a R100 entrance fee which works out to a little over R1 per game and there are already 20k worth of confirmed prizes courtesy of my weight loss sponsors All Africa Poker as well as a bookmaker sponsorship to be announced next week – prizes will be worth more than 30k and with a few hundred entrants expected I don’t need to tell you your odds are very good indeed.
While you wait for my mini league details log on to www.fs.co.za , register if not yet a member and then click on 2009 Super 14 Handicaps and enter a team.
Finally I hope you will tune in to tomorrows radio show (07h30 on ch 169 DSTV Audio or 1485AM Radio Today) where we will talk tennis, soccer and the J&B Met.I hope to get Jaco van der Westhuizen and Neil Andrews on the line pending their availability but either way I will have a couple of great guests.
Have a good weekend

Amazing how often this happens.
2 main bets fall short and the small punt on the 7/1 shot arrives (united 1-0) with a small profit the result.
I have a couple of Soccer 6's running - i wish more info on min dividend etc was forthcoming.

cant find the post but im sure you tipped him up this year as a potential winner wd
Northern Ireland teenager Rory McIlroy claimed his maiden professional tournament win with a nervy victory at the Dubai Desert Classic.
The 19-year-old had led by six strokes, but Justin Rose moved to within one shot coming onto the final hole.
The Englishman narrowly missed a birdie putt to force a play-off on the 18th, with McIlroy saving par for the win.
He closed with a two-under par 70 for a total of 19-under, while Rose carded 67 to secure second place.
The win elevates McIlroy to 13th in the world rankings, while it also makes him the seventh youngest winner in European Tour history.
Since turning pro in 2007, McIlroy came close to victory in the European Masters and this season's Hong Kong Open but lost both in a play-off.
And it appeared that nerves might have got the better of him once more in Dubai
After leading from the very first day it looked as though he would cruise to victory having led by six strokes with just six to play.
However, three bogeys saw Rose close the gap before the drama on the final hole.
After completing his third round 67 at the fog-affected event on Sunday morning, McIlroy got off to a blistering start to his final round with three birdies.
That gave him a five-stroke cushion and a double-bogey at six proved to be just a blip as none of his main rivals could capitalise.
The former world number one amateur added five straight birdies from the ninth to move clear again, but playing partner Rose applied the pressure with an eagle at the 13th and a birdie at 17.
At the par-five final hole a nervous-looking McIlroy pitched his third into the bunker, while Rose landed his approach 15-feet from the hole.
But when Rose narrowly failed to make his birdie, McIlroy got up and down for par sinking a four-footer for
Sweden's Henrik Stenson (67) finished third at 17 under, with Robert Karlsson (65), Martin Kaymer (67) and Paul Casey (68) a further shot adrift in fifth.
In-form South African Louis Oosthuizen, who had been in contention for much of the tournament, could only manage a 74 which left him tied for seventh place.

Yes Hibs I was on him
www.sportingweb.co.za/sportingweb/view/s...?oid=12841&sn=Detail
Gee he made me sweat as he faded sown the straight and when he lumped his wedge into the back bunker on 18 I nearly had a heart attack.
A good start to the year from a golfing perspective having backed Johnson a couple of weeks back - now roll on 6 Nations and Super 14
