A WHEEL MUST TURN
PSL: WEEKEND BETS
HORSE RACING
A WHEEL MUST TURN

Thursday morning at Summerveld and as the image depicts, heavy mist with zero visibility.

The religious will tell you, ‘Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there!’ The same can be said for anal-gas if you block your nose but nevertheless relating to Summerveld, behind an impenetrable, misty curtain was the usual bustle of morning activity and rhythmic thud of horses’ hooves at full tilt. Not the best if you’re expecting to see your horse training, but at least the rain has ceased and the tracks are workable.

KZN racing this weekend takes us to Greyville on Saturday night and with rain out the picture and the weather forecast all clear between then and now, the racing surface should be spot on (for a change). Let’s hope this is the beginning of a return to normality and some profitable punting to raise the dead from the dwang.

By far the most interesting race of the evening is the 4th, a fiery contest headed by bookies’ favourite No. 10 Lune De Miele at 2/1. He’s fast establishing a local reputation and complimentary comments on his looks have become the norm. I spoke to trainer Mike Miller about him and his one-liner sums it up, ‘If he can’t beat this field then he’s not as good as I think he is.’

PSL: WEEKEND BETS
STICK WITH THE TRIED AND TESTED!
After a slow start the PSL players have been really busy over the last few weeks and they will welcome a 2 week break but first have one more fixture to get through. Here are my suggested bets:
BEST BET
I am going to stick with Supersport who delivered for me at 19/20 away to Bay United on Wednesday night. They host Santos a side that has only taken 4 from 15 points on the road although admittedly 3 of those were away to Thanda Royal in their last away start.
Bet: 4 units Supersport at 9/10
Bet: 2 units Arrows at 7/10

VALUE BETS
Bet: 3 units Ajax to win at 19/10
Bet: 2 units Platinum Stars at 22/10

WORTH A UNIT
Bet: 1 unit on the Swallows/Wits draw at 24/10, Amazulu at 4/1 and the Celtic/Free State Stars draw at 22/10
