THERE are 31 entries left in the Hennessy Gold Cup at Newbury on Saturday week, including top weight Exotic Dancer, who is keeping half the acceptors out of the weights.

While Paddy Power winner Imperial Commander and Roll Along are among the 23 taken out of the race as expected on Wednesday, Cheltenham handicap chase winner Joe Lively has been surprisingly left in with his 6lb penalty getting him into the weights.

Joe Lively's trainer Colin Tizzard said on Sunday that his star chaser was a doubt for the race after suffering from a cut picked up during Saturday's success.

Exotic Dancer, who is due to run in the Betfair Chase on Saturday, is 16lb clear of second topweight Knowhere with his stablemate Albertas Run on 10st7lb among the 15 in the weights.

If Exotic Dancer stands his ground, 7-1 second favourite and last year's third Character Building will be 10lb out of the handicap.

Big Buck's, the 9-2 favourite, is one of five left in by Paul Nicholls and they are all in the handicap.
