FirstBet bookmaker robbing customers

This betting site robbed me today and gave me a BS explanation. 
is this legal?

How can a winning bet be refunded,  never heard this in my life .

Surely they should have paid you your percentage of the pool.
Would they have refunded you if your bet was a losing bet but no dividend was declared?I highly doubt that.

That's the problem with bookies using the tote pools without putting their customers money into it.
I'm not sure with % betting but if you had got the full bet and they had put your bet into the pool a dividend would have been declared.
Imagine you winning the full bet but nobody who played into the tote pools had a winning ticket so no dividend would have been declared therefore your winning ticket just gets refunded.

I took2 bets , one was a losing bet , they took the money obviously but can't pay the winning one.

All bookies have it in thier ts and cs. Essentially if you take 20% of the P6 and catch it but no one who played on the tote does you get refunded not paid out 20% of the pool. Hw and betway allow you to play straight into the tote pools however it seems one isnt able to play the daily comp it seems for that you have to play on tab direct. 

On that note the comp is quite easy to catch ive caught it a few times. Yesterday I only won R278 and still came first so got an extra R 500

If they offer the bet they should stand by it no matter how many winners.
So my winning bet with the exotics can only be a winner if someone else has won the same bet.
These t&C's some bookies have should be analysed by the gambling board.....so many are in their favour and seem unfair for the punter.

Couldn't agree more. I honestly feel tote bets should should go into tote pool weather the bookies put it in or you play on tab. Pools grow and everyone's a winner 
 

This makes one think that The Good's opinion may not be wrong.

I have a Tab Gold & Book Maker account. I place all my Tote type bets on the Tote and always will. Trebles etc all placed with the Book Maker.

Which ever argument you may hold, weakening the Tote will place all punters at the mercy of the Book Makers. Without the Tote, you will not have a basic market that is at all fair.

Currently, we have, in my opinion, strange pay outs when there are large co-mingled pools but at least your paid out.

I have always found it strange that a Book Maker will limit what you can win based on what you have won. Never will they limit what you can lose based on what you have lost.

The Tote will always accept the bet and always pay out.

An old story 

I remember going into Lynnwood tatts ( Johnny Stark and Vish) you could take odds on the lotto numbers.....
they were told to STOP as the lotto had the intellectual property as being the operator. 

How this principle did not follow with the case bookmakers vs tote ?

how does the pathetic gambling board let them get away with these rules or t&c's or whatever

why does the rule not read "when the tote does not declare a dividend, ALL bets will be refunded - win or lose"
