Thoughts ....

R1: Mostly first-timers, but for the BP I'd include Willow Lady and Phuti (who is trading at single figures) ....

R2: Find it hard to spilt Miami Mountain and Trajanus - jockey arrangements and the betting drift indicates that Wayne would need it ...

R3: Not as straight-forward imo; Ethical obvious chance, but has been beaten the last 4 times when fancied; Frangipani looks held by Ethical; Blood of Eden improved last run, while Nkwenkwezi can easily beat these on best form; interesting market support for Lucky Chance

R4: My Lucky Charm should prove hard to beat if he gets the trip; only Majalun and Trip to Peace looks capable of upsetting the 7/20 favorite

R5: Echo Check all the rage after his easy debut win, but he has been given quite a hefty mark and on a line through Amandla Ngawhetu there should not be that much between Palace Attack and EC, while Eight Hats could also prove dangerous; Page Boy once beat subsequent multiple winner Chieftan's Shield by 6 lengths so could also be a lunatic inclusion

R6: This looks competitive depending on the race-readiness of the competitors; early betting support indicates that Pistol Pete may be ready after his gelding, but not easy as suggested by the 'best-weighted' column

R7: Francilien just failed to give Pretty Persuasive 8 kgs, but has been beaten all ends up by Francine (might now need more ground) in Nov last year over this track and trip. Komati River could also prove dangerous with the apprentice allowance, while Raigning Rubies comfortably holds Valieva and could upset

R8: Versace on the Track gave the useful Anchorage 3 kgs and a beating, so looks fair value at this rating; Malibu is finding market support, so could prove dangerous (but the draw might be an issue); best outsider at these ratings imo Whirlybird

Enjoy
