Richard Fourie reduced riding ?

Maybe I'm reading into this wrong, is it just me or Richard Fourie not riding much (as I see he only has a minimum mounts per meeting) and even that to he is almost not riding for Snaith. The one or two rides he does have for Snaith he ironically is winning?.

Great jockey...and a punters go to guy. Hope he and the stable move forward as i cant wait to see him in the sadle more often?

Maybe taking it easy at the beginning of the season, difficult to maintain peak condition and fitness for 12 months without some sort of break.

Cape Summer Season about to start which will lead into the KZN season, 10 months straight of planning, fitness, riding and traveling for CPT, PE & KZN.

Planning for potential top 2yr olds, which 3yr olds to secure for the season with the potential to win Grade1's. Which older horses can win the Kings Plate & MET and take into account that he is Sponsored and retained by Ridgemont. This will bring it's own challenges like on July day when you have to ride for Ridgemont on the second best horse in a race.

I've been looking around on the betting sites for odds on the jockey title.
Think he will win it this season.

Are you not considering the highveld season or does this not exist these days. As far as I remember we still racing on the highveld and they also have a season to look forward to.

......up country racing has lost its gloss and will battle to keep pace with the constantly improving  Race Coast ....several graded races have been down graded and the Summer Cup is now a poor prize and no longer worthy in a top trainer trophy cabinet or on the mantlepiece.....its attraction has always been on the slide and the NHRA/Petergate saga has tarnished it forever and no amount of Brasso will restore it to its former glory.....

......best that better jocks find the best horses that will be fewer near that smelly/smoldering dump....oh my

Saint T, the subject was Richard Fourie and he does not normally have the JHB program as part of his unless asked to ride in specific races.
