It’s Scotia, and yes – I’m still alive.
Still battling with the ups and downs of getting my health back on track. Some good days, followed by a few bad ones on this “Stairway to Heaven” – though I’m not sure I’ve got the right qualifications for entry! That said, I’m pretty confident I’m ahead of Putin in the queue.
This sporting weekend brings us plenty of action with EPL football ⚽️ and top-quality racing.
It was fantastic to see the joy on the faces of the Grimsby supporters after their giant-killing win over Man United – proper cup football!
It’s far too early to be calling the EPL title race, but Liverpool and Arsenal are rightly among the early favourites. They meet this weekend in what promises to be a must-watch clash. A scoring draw could be the smart shout.
I must admit, I was a little embarrassed to see Newcastle and Man United priced up at the same odds to finish in the top four…
Racing – Local
Friday: HW Greyville tonight, always a good evening’s entertainment.
Saturday: A double header with HW Durbanville and Turffontein Inside – both offering competitive cards and some very decent exotic opportunities.
Sunday: Back to KZN for action at HW Scottsville.

Racing – Overseas
Saturday, Curragh: Ryan Moore could be in for a treble with Sugar Island, Mission Central and Godwinson.
Sandown: Strong card, and Publish for the in-form Gosden yard might be the pick.
Sunday, France 🇫🇷, Longchamp: Keep an eye out for HOLLYWOOD Treasure running.
As for my song choice – Stairway to Heaven has to be one of the top 10 songs of all time. And the band? Probably the best I’ve ever seen live. They were truly something special.
