Many a horse doesn't run to my instructions... But then I've no connection to the horse...

What do you do as the conditioner when you horse strolls to post and it catches you by surprise...

Be fair to the jockey - horse hasn't won on about two years, carrying 61.5kg, beaten by an improving sort, just saying. The connections of the winner are not complaining.

Check it out Bayern.
That's how I saw the race anyways.To me he didn't ride the horse to get it's best position.
Making out as if the horse has a problem but as soon as he gives it a smack it starts running.Why not give it a smack earlier on and see how it responds.And if the horse did have a problem then why did he smack it at all?And he cleverly did that at the 200m mark when he knew he had it a position where no matter what it wasn't going to run in the top three
