Anton Marcus

As I have been saying for a long time on this forum Anton is truly world class and is the first SA jock I would put up on any horse. He always gets the best out of a horse and you always get a run for your money, especially in the big races.

Forget the rest, Anton's the best!

Must agree Sasky, the man is different class, but I am also a Strydom fan, plus what about Delpech? Must say we are blesses with good jocks.
Look forward to the "test", glad to hear that Mark Khan is o.k. after his fall yesterday.

Seems we cant agree with the above comments on the CAPETOWN side.

Interesting statement Zoro, 4 of the top 8 jockeys this season are based and ride in Cape Town.

Evening Mark, I am sure zoro won't mind me replying.
He was referring to the two bad rides his horse Da Vinci's Legacy was given in the last couple of weeks, which is well documented on the site.

Anton a top rider without any doubt.
Cape may have 4 in the top 8 but I believe that is not a fair reflection of the quality.Really speaking top riders in CT are Bernard,Karl,Andrew,Fourie,Gerrit.
The problem is the rest are below average.
Further the championship is a bit of a farce,whoever rides for Smith,Greeff,Miller is at a huge advantage.
Many more good riders in Gauteng.

Anton is a star but is not invincible in Cape Town...Cocoa Beach should never have gotten beaten - and the horse in the feauture could possibly have beaten Jamaican Dream if whip was not dropped.........we all make mistakes but Anton looked a bit rattled at times at Ken on Sat.

Hard subject, all the jocks have good and bad days and some are more talented than others, I like Strydom, but a wrong decision in a split second can make them look stars or disasters.

I rate Murtagh as one of the best, yet what happened in the Melbourne Cup, the O,Brien trio went to the front and I thought for a few seconds, brilliant plan, then they blew up?

So was it Murtagh to blame, O'Brien to blame or was Septimus just not good enough?

Its a difficult game, but gives us something to talk about when we blow our hard earned cash, great game!
