1-2-3 as easy as ABC π π
10 months 2 weeks ago
Good morning all and we have an exciting end to the KZN season with the Hollywood Gold Cup day finale on Sunday.Β
I have been really looking forward to this card and hopefully it will be a successful end to the season for the punters.Β
The trainers Championship is still in the balance after the stats confusion and I am hoping that Sean Tarry can catch Justin Snaith on the last day with some strong πͺ runners .
My thoughts for the card are as followsΒ
Race 1
Can go to The Grey King for Snaith in a competitive race.
Race 2Β
Rodeo Drive is worth a punt for the Tarry/Fourie combination.Β
Race 3Β
Chocolate Soldier for the lads but Dantonfromsandton a danger.
Race 4
Quid Pro Quo a potential banker but Lock and Key could be special.
Race 5Β
The Tarry combination to fight it out, Cosmic Speed and Legend of Arthur but maybe add others to exotics.Β
Race 6Β
Lucky Lad is one of my favourites and a special horse but has a bad draw, but Tarry/Fourie combination should bring the star home.
Race 7Β
Future Pearl should win but Nebraas must be included and possibly Future Swing ?
Race 8Β
It's now or never for See It Again, good trainer but was a great jockey with another great jockey to ride a Humdinger π
Maybe add Dave the King, Cousin Casey and Flag Man.
Race 9Β
No stress here as I have the field but if pushed Red Palace and Saartjie for the PA.
Race 10Β
Pistol Pete to fire π₯Β
It would appear the TC02 debacle has been put aside after the failure to nail certain trainers backfired and disturbed the "good" ones π
Β Β
As far as the UK we have the King George where I have to stick to Auguste Rodin for the unstoppable Obrien/Moore combination, please note! that globetrotting Rebels Romance should make it a great race.
Did you see the race with Tower of London on the UK thread followed by the Obrien interview, it's a must watch.Β
Another interesting post on the site is where 16 years ago Mr H posted " Richard Fourie will go down as one of the best we've ever seen" great call Mr H πΒ
The Olympics starts soon and we should be in for a treat, we have a dedicated thread with some highlights and betting.Β

Just to mention the 100 Mt Jamaica vs USA with Lyles to win 200 Mt but keep an eye on Simbine from SA in the 100mt at massive price.Β
1500 Mt can go to Ingebrighsen from Norway who is a cert in 5000 MtΒ
800 Mt should go to Algeria.Β
Long jump to the German Tentoglou .
The pole vault goes to Duplantis from Sweden unless he breaks his pole π³Β
It's on channel 217 local 24/7Β
My song choice is another golden oldie and hope the Gold Cup will be "like taking candy from a baby" or punters "taking cash from the bookies"Β
Mrs S had her eye π operation and went well π
She did give me the evil eye last week before the SA vs Portugal match when I says "a bloody Scottish female referee".
The stare made sure I carried on washing the dishes without further comment.
On the same subject of female domination, I was aware that Jamaicans can run but we now have a lass running for President of the USA and only Donald "bullet head" Trump can save mankind, it's a scary thought π±
Maybe this transition story is the answer.Β
I thought about being identified as a bookie but maybe a quote for a vagina at the local clinic is the way to go ?
Mrs S says there should be little problems as I act like a twat frequently.Β
Good Punting πΒ

Quid Pro Quo wiil be the highlight for me on Sunday. I think she is something special in the making and good luck to the owner for using an "unfashionable" sire.Β
Would be very surprised if she stays on these shores after Sunday .Β
Hoping Cousin Casey can land the big one π€

I always go for the 'alternative' choice - not that I'll be playing on Sunday- but think Quid Pro Quo will be beaten from that draw - Carry on Alice the value imo - and I also think the Cousin had his peak run in the July, anyway at the weights I think See It Again will beat him - danger I think is Double SuperlativeΒ

Cousin Casey is more heart than head as I have made decent Β£ backing him for places in the "big" ones this season . You are correct though at the weights SIA has him stone cold but we all know what can happen in this game !Β

I confused... I see Tarry has 89 winners so far and Snaith 115 .... what stats confusion are you referring to Dave?

Re: 1-2-3 as easy as ABC π π
10 months 1 week agoAnd nobody even mentioned that Carry on Alice certainly won't be running ... of course I'm referring to World of Alice (but I have an excuse as I went for eye surgery as well - and the other eye is due on Monday next)I always go for the 'alternative' choice - not that I'll be playing on Sunday- but think Quid Pro Quo will be beaten from that draw - Carry on Alice the value imo - and I also think the Cousin had his peak run in the July, anyway at the weights I think See It Again will beat him - danger I think is Double SuperlativeΒ
