That's true Thor.
No way could the stipes be 100% sure that Plettenberg would have beaten Teriyaki.
But it 100% did cost it 2nd place,no doubt about that.
But with these rules that doesn't matter at all.
 

Stipes need to explain this on live TV. This being upheld is ridiculous, and they don't know their own rules.

Ridiculous.......
They never consistent,it just matters who the stipes are and what their views are.
Tomorrow different stipes and objection overruled.

It's the correct decision but rules aren't always applied consistently or correctly which causes frustration when this occurs.
 
Jabu Jacobs didn't do enough to prevent Teriyaki from hanging and playing bumper cars at crucial stages.
Plettenberg had it's entire race inconvenienced too but couple that with Fourie going for Delpech's record and it's not hard to find the verdict stating: upheld.

In your opinion and the stipes upheld.
In my and Thor's opinion no way was it 100% the 3rd horse would have beaten the original winner.
It's all about opinions and no steadfast rule.
Whoever is on duty their opinions count.

The rule, as currently written, is subjective so expect no consistency...maybe that's how they want it...

A bit like how a greater portion of the mark one's child gets in school is derived from subjective assessments like projects and speeches rather than what's objectively written on paper and marked...gives the teachers an opportunity to make themselves look good...

This objection reminded me of the Gatecrasher/Distinctly objection in the Durban July all those years ago. There can be no argument that Plettenberg was seriously "inconvenienced" but for which he would possibly/probably have finished ahead of Teriyaki. Upholding the objection was entirely to be expected and the beneficiary, who was not in any way involved, was Avro Prince just as Principal Boy was back then by virtue of the fact that he split the two involved.
